Kingsley Court (part of Friary Care) is a small, friendly residential care home located on the Dorchester Road, Weymouth.
We are seeking an enthusiastic home cook who would like to join our supportive, caring team on a part time basis, with overtime as required to cover holidays and sickness.
As a Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality meals while maintaining the standards of cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment.
About you:
* cares about and understands how important good food and nutrition is in a residential home
* Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and standards.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
* keep the kitchen clean and tidy; we always strive to maintain our level 5 food hygiene award
* has experience in the kitchen (this does not need to be a professional kitchen, cooking for a large family is similar to this role)
* enjoys cooking home made, tasty meals - traditional meals such as roast dinners, cottage pie, homemade soups and quiches etc
* is competent in the kitchen
* can complete necessary paperwork (record temperatures etc)
* can work well using their own initiative and alongside other colleagues
* takes pride in their food and the kitchen
The opportunity to undertake NVQ qualification is encouraged and our new team member will be expected to undertake mandatory training as required.
We are looking for our new team member to work 52.5 hours per fortnight which will include alternate weekends. The hours are 8am – 3.30pm (or 7.30am – 3.00pm) as follows on a 2 week rota:
SAT 8am – 3.30pm (or 7.30am – 3.00pm)
SUN 8am – 3.30pm (or 7.30am – 3.00pm)
MON 8am – 3.30pm (or 7.30am – 3.00pm)
TUES - Off
WEDS - Off
THURS 8am – 3.30pm (or 7.30am – 3.00pm)
FRI 8am – 3.30pm (or 7.30am – 3.00pm)
SAT - Off
SUN - Off
MON - Off

We enjoy providing our residents with choices, options and a daily variety of good old fashioned home cooked meals including home-made cakes and bakes We cater for all dietary needs including diabetics and soft / pureed diets.
