As a Council we have bold ambitions for our city and our people are key to delivering excellent services. We are looking for a customer-focused individual(s) to join our People Team, with a focus on delivering first line HR advice and support to Sheffield City Council employees and managers, and escalation of more complex queries to colleagues in the People Team.
The role will require you:
1. To deal with HR-related queries and requests for advice. This will involve call handling and mailbox administration, and an ability to interpret policy and guidance to provide an appropriate level of advice in a professional manner.
2. To maintain accurate records of requests for advice and support, including working with a Case Management System and a Storm Telephony System.
3. To be able to manage your own workload ensuring responses to and escalation of queries are completed in line with required service standards.
4. To take a customer-focused approach to ensure responses are provided which are accurate, clear and understandable.
5. Monitor and progress-chase queries that have been escalated or where requests for advice have been made, to ensure the required service standards are met.
6. To demonstrate an appetite for learning to enable you to develop in this role.
The service receives a high volume of calls and customer enquiries from employees and managers, so you will therefore need to have:
Excellent customer service skills
7. Be highly organised, and confident in undertaking transactional processes
8. Able to work at pace and with accuracy.
