2 x Junior Software Developers (ICT - Application Build)
We’re looking for 2 x Junior Software Developers to support the design and delivery of effective ICT solutions across the council. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, collaborating with others, and shaping services that meet real user and business needs.
About the role
You will:
1. Contribute to analysing user and business requirements
2. Contribute to the support and maintenance of multiple systems, both for internal use as well as external customer facing
3. Support the design and modelling of new and improved services
4. Work with ICT tools to develop and communicate solution options
5. Help translate business needs into clear requirements for the development team
6. Liaise with stakeholders across business, change and technical areas
7. Identify opportunities to reuse existing systems and align to ICT architecture
8. Support workshops, process mapping and service redesign activities
9. Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement
About you
You should bring:
10. Around 3 years’ ICT development knowledge and skills
11. Ability to interpret customer insights and create clear process/journey maps
12. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
13. Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
14. Ability to work proactively and manage your own workload
15. Comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels and working within dynamic teams
16. Understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion principles
17. The right to work in the UK
Desirable
18. ITIL Foundation
19. Agile Software Delivery methodologies
20. Experience within local government or another public body
21. Formal education in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent industry experience
22. Experience with any of the following will be an advantage: MS Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Azure, C#, Ruby on Rails, SQL, JavaScript, HTML. CSS
