Overview
The Senior Site Manager has overall responsibility for a specific site, typically a large-scale project. He/she is the construction leader on the ground, managing the overall day-to-day supervision of the construction site. The role involves monitoring site preparation prior to project launch and overseeing the safe and efficient operation of the site throughout the construction phase.
Responsibilities
* Participates in compiling the initial programme and maintains awareness of weekly targets.
* Plans and oversees site setup, ensuring facilities are in place before project launch.
* Manages relationships with subcontractors onsite.
* Ensures adherence to HSEQS protocols at all times.
* Maintains quality control procedures.
* Ensures the TWR is in place and up to date.
* Monitors onsite energy and waste data.
* Ensures an efficient registration system for individuals entering and leaving the site.
* Flags issues with Contract Management/Commercial Teams that could impact project delivery, such as materials, schedules, resources, H&S, costs, or delivery timelines.
Experience
* Strong people management skills.
* Knowledge of industrial relations practices.
* Ability to handle conflicting priorities and stakeholders, especially subcontractors.
* Excellent communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.
* Experience managing subcontractors.
* Over ten years’ experience in sectoral projects.
* Proven track record of leading medium to large-scale projects.
Qualifications
* Relevant academic or professional qualifications in construction.
* Certifications: CSCS for Managers, SMSTS, CDM/PSCS Awareness, BBS, S 5 Q 10 workshops.
* First Aid at Work certification.
* Lifting Supervisor qualification.
* Driving license.
* Degree or diploma in a construction-related field.
