Weekend Cook - Patcham Nursing Home, Brighton £14.35 per hour Weekend Enhancements | Permanent Contract | 20 hours per week Join Our Friendly Nursing Home Kitchen Team Patcham Nursing Home is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Weekend Cook to join our warm and welcoming kitchen team in Brighton. We are a 30-bed family-run nursing home , providing personalised care in a homely and supportive environment. About the Cook Role We are looking for a confident and caring cook who can prepare nutritious, freshly cooked meals while supporting residents’ individual dietary needs and preferences. You will play an important role in creating enjoyable mealtimes and ensuring residents receive meals that are not only nutritious but also comforting and familiar. Experience working in a catering, care home, or similar environment is preferred, along with a good understanding of food hygiene standards and dietary requirements. Role Details £14.35 per hour (reviewed annually) w eekend enhancements paid Permanent contract 20 hours per week Saturday and Sunday shifts Cook Responsibilities Prepare and cook breakfasts, lunches, and light evening meals Provide two lunch options plus desserts Bake cakes for birthdays and special occasions Cater for residents and staff Support residents’ dietary and nutritional needs Cater for modified diets and individual preferences Maintain excellent food hygiene and kitchen standards Help create a warm and positive dining experience for residents Experience Previous cook experience required Experience in a care home, healthcare, or catering environment is desirable Knowledge of food safety and dietary requirements is essential What We Offer What We Offer Competitive hourly rates plus weekend pay enhancements Paid training and induction Ongoing learning and development opportunities Pension scheme (subject to eligibility) Employee referral bonus scheme:- £200 on joining, £300 after 1 year service (T&Cs apply) Our Values At SDR Care, we live by: Kindness, Dignity & Respect, Calmness, Creativity, and Responsibility.
