Role Purpose
Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Officer will provide hands-on support in the People and Culture department, managing all elements within the full HR life cycle. The role involves supporting the implementation of the organisation's People and Culture Strategy and delivering excellent service to staff. The HR Officer will partner with the business, working closely with the HR Manager, and serve as a central contact for HR matters.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Manage and maintain the People and Culture administration functions.
2. Provide HR advice to managers and staff on all HR-related matters.
3. Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems.
4. Manage and administer the hiring process, including onboarding programs.
5. Advise managers on policies and procedures.
6. Provide generalist HR support and record confidential information securely.
7. Manage the annual performance review process.
8. Assist in HR data management and reporting.
9. Support employee relations initiatives.
10. Collaborate with finance to maintain accurate workforce data.
11. Ensure payroll administration accuracy.
12. Maintain employee records in electronic formats.
13. Advise staff on policies and procedures.
14. Manage the full recruitment process, including job descriptions and postings.
15. Create and manage onboarding processes for new staff.
16. Ensure compliance with employment law updates.
17. Support investigations and disciplinary processes.
18. Lead employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives.
19. Maintain records related to attendance, HESA data, and legal requirements.
20. Ensure adherence to HR policies, employment law, and regulations.
21. Develop communication channels and build relationships across departments.
Essential Skills and Experience
1. Relevant degree or equivalent in human resources.
2. Member of CIPD.
3. Proven experience as HR officer or generalist.
4. Knowledge of HR functions and employment law.
5. Proficiency in MS Office and HRMS software.
6. Experience administrating payroll and with HR data analytics.
7. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
8. Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
9. Experience with applicant tracking systems.
10. Flexibility to manage multiple projects.
