Human Resources Manager (Part‑time)

Salary: £28,000 (pro‑rated for 25 hrs; £40,000 FTE equivalent)
Hours: ~25 hrs per week (morning essential, flexible remainder; on‑site Monday‑Friday 08:00‑12:30)
Start date: December or January (flexible handover)
Client: Independent specialist day college for young people aged 16‑25 with complex special educational needs.
Responsibilities
* Provide practical advice on day‑to‑day HR issues.
* Manage contracts, policies, compliance and employee relations.
* Support managers with casework, restructures and change management.
* Review and improve HR processes and documentation.
* Collaborate closely with the CEO and senior leadership team.
Qualifications
* Significant hands‑on HR experience.
* Confident, pragmatic adviser capable of handling a wide range of HR matters.
* Excellent people skills – visible, approachable and credible across the organisation.
* Ability to work independently and manage workload in a small but busy environment.
* Experience with Peninsula HR (or similar) is a bonus but not essential.
* No requirement for CIPD qualification or education experience; strong HR skills and sound judgement are essential.
