Working hours: 10 hours per week (9.00am - 2.00pm Monday and Friday however flexibility is required on both days)

The Salvation Army, Kettering Corps, operates a weekly Luncheon Club on a Monday and a Friday. It plays a major part of the weekly mission activities of the Corps bringing together individuals and offering fellowship, company, and good food. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who wants to be part of a growing Luncheon Club. The successful applicant will prepare and cook good quality food for approximately 25-30 Luncheon Club customers in an effective catering service.
Key Responsibilities:
The post-holder will plan and purchase all food required to make a healthy and nutritious cost-effective menu for the service, considering any nutritional and dietary requirements and customer opinion. They will also ensure that current health and safety and environmental health and hygiene standards and other appropriate regulations and procedures are maintained within the catering facility (e.g. BFH / COSHH) and food storage is carried out to approved British standards.
The successful candidate(s) will have:
1. Good knowledge and experience in preparing and serving food in a commercial kitchen environment.
2. The ability to influence others and develop effective working relationships with colleagues, programme participants and external stakeholders.
3. The ability to supervise the work of Volunteers and provide training where necessary in collaboration with the Corps Officer.
4. Ability to understand the community needs and have proficiency in English
5. Ability to be committed to the values, aims and ethos of The Salvation Army.
