Senior Site Manager

Construction is changing and we are at the forefront of that change, we are looking for a Senior Site Manager to join us on the journey. Pioneering new ways to build, innovating the way construction is viewed and establishing ourselves as one of the top employers in any industry. We are expanding our delivery team and recruiting a Senior Site Manager to help deliver increased turnover in the Yorkshire region


We deliver projects between £10m -£80 million across multiple sectors such including Education, Leisure, commercial, transport & residential… so no two projects are the same


As a Senior Site Manager at Willmott Dixon, you will be part of our one team ethos that delivers quality projects on time whilst also having a positive impact on the local community.

Key responsibilities include:


1. Reporting to the Construction Manager, the successful Senior Site Manager will manage the delivery of projects safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality.

2. Leadership and people management

3. Maintain the highest standards of health, safety and environmental management.

4. Implement project strategies to achieve the company’s sustainability objectives.

5. Establish standards of quality on-site and ensure delivery of a quality build in accordance with the project specifications and project requirements.

6. Understand the client priorities and adopt a professional and considerate approach to maintain good working relations.

7. Implement the supply chain policy.

8. Adopt the principles of the Considerate Constructor’s Scheme and manage community relations. Ensure appropriate site image is maintained to encourage repeat business.

9. Produce and develop project programmes and control operations to achieve delivery of the project on time. Organise the works and supply chain to provide the right working environment to avoid disruption between trades.

10. Undertake the works in the most economical manner to eliminate waste and avoid non-recoverable costs and preliminary losses. Monitor and work to the agreed preliminary budget.

11. Maintain continuous professional development to ensure appropriate technical awareness.

12. Comply with standard procedures

13. Manage project handover and ensure defect / snag-free completion.

14. Support the strategy for the closure of defects during the defects period and obtain a certificate of Making Good Defects within targets set.


Essential and Desirable Criteria


15. Proven track record of successfully delivering construction projects as part of a wider team

16. The ability to read and accurately interpret programmes, drawings and technical specifications

17. Understanding and appropriately sharing build programmes

18. Managing the supply chain, direct employees and consultants

19. Proactively liaising with customers and the supply chain

20. Minimum relevant level 4 qualification (HNC/NVQ4 etc) or equivalent

21. Appropriate CSCS card

22. SMSTS certificate

23. First Aid at Work certificate
