Now let us tell you about the role:

Objective:

To provide a pipeline of talent into the processing part of the business, where potential site managers are equipped with the skills and knowledge, to be successful in a site manager position, after the two-year graduate programme has been completed.

Programme Schedule:

The Site Management graduate scheme is conducted over a two-year period, with four modules in place over this time. These are detailed below and consist of on the job training and classroom/e-Learning development to ensure the required knowledge & skills are present at the end of the programme.

Starting Salary - £26k

First six months spent within the operational site environment, working as an operator within the waste processing function.

Designed to ensure a full understanding of the business, and overall suitability within the waste sector, as previous experience will not be a requirement & build trust.

Review and Feedback

Following the successful completion of the first period, the graduate will move into a supervisory position.

This is designed to give leadership experience, starting the leadership modules of the development plan, whilst also learning from a mentor throughout this period.

Salary Review - £28k

Continuation as a Supervisor, but now taking on board more budgetary responsibility for the site operations and undertaking a specific project based around one of the below subjects during P3:

SHEQ/ Productivity / Profitability

Review and Site Allocation

Following successful achievement of the first 18 months, allocation of final site responsibility is now given. The Site Manager role is fulfilled, with guidance by Regional Managers and Mentor to ensure success during this first six-month period on site. WAMITAB and IOSH to be completed during this stage.

Support and Development:

Development Programme consisting of four development sessions (two-days each) over the two-year period.

* Includes the following modules, linked to the future leadership competencies:
o The role of a leader in Beauparc, Effective Teamwork and Managing change & feedback mechanisms
o Presentation skills, Effective leading through communication and Coaching skills
o People Management skills: Interviewing, Recruitment, Absence management, Disciplinary and Grievance and Performance management skills including PDR conversations
o Influencing & Negotiating, Delegation & Time management and Decision making and Problem solving
o WAMITAB and IOSH Managing Safely will also be included, along with work around Personality Profiling (MBTI) and Emotional Intelligence, in Year Two.
o In addition, Microsoft Office skills will be assessed and developed, along with Project Management and Report Writing, as part of the assessment and review process. Presentations to Senior Leaders and Group Exec will be required as part of the review process.
