The HR Manager will be an integral member of the College Management Team, reporting to the CEO and supported by the HR Coordinator. The role provides high-quality HR advice, guidance and support in line with best practice and employment legislation, and works closely with managers on recruitment, onboarding, training, staff wellbeing, people management, and embedding the College values and behavioural framework.
Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality HR advice, guidance and support in line with best practice and employment legislation.
* Collaborate with managers on recruitment, onboarding, training, staff wellbeing and people management.
* Contribute to the development of the People Strategy and implement the associated action plan.
* Create and execute an ongoing programme of learning and development to develop a high performing, agile and flexible workforce.
* Act as an ambassador for the College, consistently demonstrating our values and delivering a dependable, people-focused service.
The role may involve working across three full days (Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday) or other options including half days. The successful candidate will initially work in College during probation, then transition to hybrid working (two days out of three).
About You / Qualifications
* HRM or Business degree graduate and CIPD qualified.
* Minimum of five years’ experience as Human Resources Manager with evidence of effectively managing a wide range of employee relations issues.
* Experience with HRIS, preferably Moorepay HR, for compliance and reporting.
* Strategic thinking with strong operational delivery ability.
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with experience conveying complex information to diverse audiences.
* Enterprising, proactive, resourceful and resilient with a learning mindset and commitment to CPD.
* Strong influencing, relationship-building and negotiation skills; diplomacy, discretion and tact.
* A sense of urgency and a passion to deliver outstanding service.
* Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
* High competence in Microsoft Office.
* Understanding of and commitment to the College’s purpose and values; professionalism as an College ambassador.
