Description
* Part time cook required working in a friendly residential home in Farnham, Surrey.
* Temporary position for 6–12 months to cover maternity leave.
* At least one year’s professional cooking experience is required.
* Pay: £14.46 per hour plus £1.85 weekend enhancement.
* Shift times: alternate weekends – Saturday 8.00am to 2.30pm and Sunday 3.00pm to 7.30pm.
Responsibilities
* Work at all times within the practice taught in the Food Hygiene course.
* Prepare food for appropriate meals as specified by the menu.
* Ensure any food prepared looks pleasant, is tasty and kept hot/cold as needed.
* Ensure food waste is kept to a minimum.
* Ensure the kitchen is tidy and clean at the end of a shift.
* Ensure a safe environment for other staff.
* Ensure fridge, freezers and food temperatures are recorded twice a day.
* Ensure daily/weekly and monthly cleaning tasks are carried out to a high standard and signed for.
* Ensure the Better Food Better Business is correct and kept up to date.
* Report any problems to the Person-in-Charge as appropriate.
* Gain feedback from residents during meal times.
* Complete ordering to ensure plenty of stock is available to be able to fulfil the daily menus.
* Be aware of residents’ nutritional needs and cater accordingly.
