Overview
This is a fixed-term secondment for a Lead Cancer Nurse who will manage and develop the Living With and Beyond Cancer programme across the Trust’s Cancer Services, ensuring the delivery of personalised cancer care to patients and families.
Responsibilities
* Lead the Living With and Beyond Cancer programme, driving development and transformation of the Trust’s personalised cancer care.
* Roll out personalised cancer care principles across the Trust, influencing Clinical Nurse Specialists and the wider multidisciplinary team.
* Develop and deliver the Recovery Package, including Holistic Needs Assessments, Personalised Care and Support Plans, Treatment Summaries, Well‑being events and personalised stratified follow‑up.
* Use a project management methodology to plan work, identify risks, develop solutions and communicate the project vision.
* Influence behaviour change and collaborate with the Lead Cancer Nurse and Clinical Nurse Specialists to represent patients’ voices throughout the project.
* Lead the delivery of the Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Service, ensuring efficient provision across the patient pathway.
* Maintain effective and collaborative relationships within the Trust, primary care and external organisations.
* Support operational, administrative and clinical teams to deliver high‑quality, supportive cancer care.
* Manage workload independently, meeting agreed deadlines with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
* Experience in service development, project management and managing complex change initiatives.
* Evidence of effective, autonomous leadership within a healthcare setting.
* Strong initiative, motivation and the ability to work independently.
* Demonstrated experience in improving service delivery and patient pathways within cancer care.
* Excellent communication, risk‑identification and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Ability to influence multidisciplinary teams and represent patient perspectives.
