Urgent Opportunity: HR Manager (Learning & Development)
Central London | Hybrid (2–3 days on-site)
Working hours: Mon-Fri (35 hours)
6-Month Contract (Strong potential for permanent)
Pay rate: £29.26 –£32.96 per hour PAYE (depending on experience)
Interviews to take place 09 June 2025 with a start soon thereafter
We’re partnering with a well-regarded membership organisation to recruit an experienced HR Manager with a strong focus on Learning and Development. This is an urgent interim role for six months, with a strong possibility of becoming permanent.
This is a great opportunity for an HR professional with strategic L&D experience and a collaborative leadership style to make a meaningful contribution during a period of change and development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the design and delivery of engaging, fit-for-purpose learning and development programmes.
2. Develop and implement a comprehensive L&D strategy aligned with the organisation’s current and future needs.
3. Line manage and appraise two direct reports (HR Advisers – including L&D).
4. Oversee performance management and staff induction processes.
5. Coordinate employee recognition awards and staff engagement initiatives.
6. Support senior leaders in evolving and modernising management practices.
7. Lead on key HR projects, including restructures, policy updates, and internal events.
8. Manage employee relations issues in line with best practice and current legislation.
9. Work with the Senior HR Coordinator to support payroll processing.
10. Oversee the L&D budget and develop metrics to track impact and performance.
11. Ensure HR systems, policies, and procedures are up to date and compliant with relevant legislation and organisational values.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience leading Learning & Development strategies and initiatives.
* Strong understanding of performance management, organisational development, and change.
* Confident handling complex employee relations and advising senior stakeholders.
* Experience managing HR teams or senior advisers.
* Up-to-date knowledge of employment law and policy development.
* Proactive, values-led professional with a hands-on and solution-focused approach.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Experience within a membership body, professional institution, or not-for-profit setting.
* CIPD qualification or equivalent.
