Overview
We are seeking an experienced Front-End Developer to support a high-impact digital programme within the NHS. This role will focus on building scalable, user-centric web applications that improve healthcare services and patient outcomes.
You will be working as part of a cross-functional agile team, contributing to the design, development, and deployment of modern front-end solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain responsive, high-quality front-end applications using React and TypeScript
* Collaborate with designers, backend engineers, and product teams to deliver seamless user experiences
* Integrate front-end components with AWS-hosted services and APIs
* Ensure code quality through testing, code reviews, and best practices
* Contribute to architectural decisions and continuous improvement of the front-end stack
* Work within an agile environment, participating in ceremonies and sprint planning
Essential Skills & Experience
* Strong commercial experience with React and TypeScript
* Experience working with AWS services (e.g. Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudFront)
* Proven experience delivering projects within the NHS or wider healthcare sector (must-have)
* Solid understanding of modern front-end architecture and best practices
* Experience working in agile delivery teams
* Strong communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Desirable
* Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG)
* Familiarity with NHS digital standards and governance
* Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
