Job Description
Introduction to the role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our HQ, Pavilion, Avon and Mills & Boon division, providing support to Key Accounts. This role involves working with retailers, the publishing division, as well as the wider UK sales team, with sales account responsibility for Mills and Boon series.
The successful candidate will possess a high level of organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to quickly learn company systems and confidently use Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel. We are looking for a personable, bright individual who can learn quickly and use their initiative.
The role offers valuable sales experience, including shadowing account handlers for major UK retailers, with potential for the right candidate to begin managing some accounts directly.
Working across the HQ Fiction and HQ and Pavilion Nonfiction lists, it provides a unique insight into the UK Trade book market. The role is customer-facing and involves working with major Fiction and NonFiction brands and genres, including authors like Adele Parks, Linwood Barclay, Davina McCall, and Paul Ainsworth.
Core responsibilities:
* Administrative support to the HQ and Avon Sales team
* Customer communication for Mills and Boon series titles
* Distribute advance samples/proofs to retailers and team
* Create internal and external PowerPoint presentations
* Respond to internal and customer queries promptly
* Perform ad-hoc administrative tasks, such as formatting presentations and creating graphs in Excel
* Liaise with Field Sales, Divisional Sales, Marketing, PR, Distribution, Editorial, and Finance teams
* Process customer orders efficiently, coordinating with Glasgow distribution, credit control, and customer services
* Raise marketing PO’s as needed
* Stay informed about the commercial book market and promote HQ titles
Skills and Experience required:
* Experience in maintaining and developing working relationships
* Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
* Experience in producing sales presentations
* Ability to manage priorities in a busy environment
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Professional, reliable, quick under pressure, and proactive

* Keen interest and passion for books, especially in commercial fiction and non-fiction
