Scope of job: Hands on active role. Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day site operations ensuring the Project is delivered on time, safely and to budget whilst working closely with all stakeholders.
Accountable to: Senior Project Manager
Responsibilities
* Take full ownership of operational delivery on site
* Lead co-ordination of site activities including managing site logistics & vehicle/pedestrian routes
* Ensure excellent site presentation standards are achieved
* Champion Safety Observation Report Tool (SORT) and safety initiatives
* Hold morning safety briefings with the supply chain (DABS)
* Manage site waste management strategy
* Input into operational progress data for the monthly reports
* Provide support and leadership to the site managers and sub-contractors
* Chair and record weekly progress meetings with the sub-contractors
* Complete the daily site diary
* Undertake weekly safety inspection audits using the Safety Culture App
* Undertake Quality checks with ITPs and WIS sheets using the Safety Culture App
* Manage statutory and enforcing authorities
* Managing compliance to management plans
* Promoting and encouraging a positive H&S culture culture and encouraging the best practice with SHEQ Management System
* Establishing key relationships with sub-contractors and the site team
* Manage resources including prelims, to ensure profitability of the project
* Comply with environmental legislation
* Supply BREEAM evidence for the project award
* Engage with Considerate Constructors
Essential Experience
* Strong construction background in the Commercial and Industrial sectors
* Minimum 15 years of on-site construction experience, 3 of these as a Senior Site Manager, working on projects in excess of £10m
* Degree, HSE or NVQ equivalent qualified in a construction related discipline
* SMSTS certified
* Full valid CSCS card
* Commitment to providing excellent customer care and executing all duties with a customer focused attitude
* Willingness to undertake appropriate training
* Full, valid driving license and ability to travel regionally and nationally
Highly Desirable Experience
* First Aid Trained
* Temporary Works Coordinator Trained
* SEATS Certificate
* Bluebeam proficient
* Asta Proficient
* Asbestos awareness
* Dedication to mentoring and developing others
* Charted member of professional body e.g. CIOB, ICE etc
