Site Manager - Kingsway, Brighton and Hove Job Type: Casual Location: West Hove Job Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Site Manager to lead our team and oversee the day-to-day operation of our West Hove site. Based within a container-style site with a small and hands-on staffing model, this role requires someone who is operationally strong, adaptable, and confident leading from the front. The Site Manager will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence, maintaining high standards of quality and service, and creating a positive customer experience while driving the commercial success of the site. This role is also designed as a key development opportunity within the business. Due to the nature and size of the operation, this site provides the ideal environment to gain broad operational exposure while still carrying out all core Manager responsibilities. We see this as a springboard role for ambitious leaders looking to progress within the company, with an expected tenure of 12–18 months before a formal development review and potential move into a larger site. Please note that this is an exposed coastal location. During the summer months, the site is beautifully sunny and vibrant; during the winter, the team embraces the environment with heaters, warm layers, and a positive attitude to ensure a great atmosphere for both staff and customers year-round. Key Responsibilities Operations & Leadership Oversee the daily operations of the site and front-of-house team. Ensure high standards of customer service, presentation, and cleanliness are consistently maintained. Implement and maintain operational procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity. Lead, motivate, and develop a small, high-performing team. Foster a positive, collaborative, and inclusive work environment. Ensure compliance with all health & safety regulations and company standards. Take a hands-on approach to service and daily operations. Financial & Business Management Manage budgets, cost control, and financial performance to drive profitability. Analyse sales data and operational metrics to identify areas for improvement. Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue and customer engagement. Manage stock control and supplier relationships where required. Customer Experience & Brand Management Uphold The Flour Pot Bakery’s brand values and maintain a consistent customer experience. Engage with customers to build strong relationships and gather feedback. Ensure the site is well-presented, clean, and welcoming at all times. People Management & Development Recruit, train, and retain a skilled and motivated team. Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and development. Create staff schedules to ensure smooth operation and efficiency. Support the development of future leaders within the business while actively progressing your own leadership journey. Compliance & Food Safety Adhere to food hygiene, health & safety, and company policies, ensuring compliance is consistently maintained to a high standard. Ensure all customer-facing and operational areas are kept to the highest standards. Communication Create a culture of excellent communication, including regular team briefs and management meetings. Read and respond to emails during shifts, or as required by senior management. Maintain strong and proactive communication with senior leadership teams. Requirements Proven experience in a senior supervisor/assistant manager role. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a team. Experience working within a fast-paced customer-facing operation. Strong financial acumen, including budget management and cost control. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Knowledge of health & safety and food hygiene regulations. Passion for high-quality food, coffee, and hospitality. Ambition and drive to grow within a developing hospitality business. A hands-on and adaptable approach, with the ability to thrive in a seasonal and exposed coastal environment.
