Role Overview
We are currently looking for a Retrofit Site Manager to join our team in Portsmouth.
As the Site Manager you are responsible for providing an excellent service that is safe, effective and efficient in the delivery of a variety of projects and programmes across our varying contracts and ensuring that all works are delivered to the high‑quality standards that our clients expect from us in an efficient and VFM manner.
As well as this you will be acting as the company’s representation to our clients and their residents, providing effective and efficient communication between the client, residents and our internal project teams.
The Site Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationship.
Responsibilities
* Manage the delivery of Retrofit site works, overseeing the installation of Energy Efficiency Measures (EEMS’s) by both direct delivery operatives and specialist subcontractors.
* Work closely with Cardo management, operatives, and supply chain subcontractors to ensure that the project programme is adhered to, identifying and managing any risks to programme, quality, or budget that may arise.
* Provide clear and concise communication on progress of works to Cardo management and the client in a structured and professional manner, and ensure that residents are kept up to date with programme of works and overall progress.
* Ensure the highest standards of health and safety are adhered to at all times, by all attendees of the site. As the Site Manager you will have overall responsibility for ensuring health and safety policies and procedures are followed by all, and will work with, and report to Cardo Health and Safety management on a regular basis.
* Attend both internal and client meetings representing the business in a professional manner, and always treating others with respect.
* Be organised and proficient in the use of various of ICT systems, regulations, and legislation to the entire building/construction industry as well as H&S and the landlord and tenants act.
* Ensure the PAS2035 process is followed, and all works are installed to PAS2030/MCS requirements. Work with the project Retrofit Coordinator towards the common goal of a successful and compliant finished install.
* Understand specifications and drawings and ensure they are being followed and installed correctly on site.
* Updating systems to ensure that all documents relating to your role are saved and ready for auditing in strict accordance with Cardo procedures and PAS2030 requirements.
* Working with Building Control regulations and requirements as well as all other statutory and mandatory regulations/legislation and requirements.
* Must be able to adapt and have a willing attitude to work on other departmental work streams for the purpose of team playing and cross covering, Understand and work within team targets and the Cardo business plan.
* Develop effective working relationships with residents, direct labour operatives, sub-contractors, clients, building control and the local fire authority.
* Act as the representative and be the face of Cardo Group.
* Support the Resident Liaison Officers with resident consultation / engagement and support the project team in pre-consultation and update meetings. Encourage positive relationships between the company and the resident’s ensuring actions are followed up.
* Convey accurate information in both directions between the residents and the project team, involving residents in the overall process and ensure they are always kept up to date with any fluctuations in programme. Make sure that all resident complaints are dealt with through to completion and sharing any lessons learnt with the project team and senior management team.
* Promote and follow good Project governance through the policies and procedures laid out by the Cardo Group.
You will need
* Membership of the CSCS scheme (preferable).
* 5-day SMSTS – CITB.
* 1st Aid at Work (3 day).
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Construction Supervisory/Site Manger role.
* A solid understanding of construction methods and technology.
* A proven knowledge of the management of health, safety, and environment.
* An awareness of the PAS2035/PAS2030 process and requirements.
* Understanding of contract documentation and reporting and how best to protect CARDO Commercially
* Be IT literate.
* Proven track record of career progression through engineering, trade or construction roles in the construction industry
* Fully understand and lead customer management
* Have a sound understanding of the change management process.
* Demonstrate the capability of ‘multi-tasking’.
* A valid driving licence.
