MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE BUSINESS:
As a Principal Architect for Data & AI at Kainos, you’ll be responsible for the successful delivery of modern data and AI solutions across multiple clients.
You will have influence within the data and AI community and demonstrate strong thought leadership, working with senior stakeholders to establish principles, strategic direction, and both functional and non-functional designs. You will also manage other architects and engineers, guiding their career development.
You will provide assurance and support to multi-skilled agile teams by understanding the goals of the solution, the technical implications, and complexities involved. As a technical leader, you will help develop policies and standards, foster customer relationships, develop account strategies, and mentor colleagues. You will advise on new technologies and approaches, with opportunities to learn and grow.
MINIMUM (ESSENTIAL) REQUIREMENTS
* Broad knowledge of current and emerging data and AI technologies, with the ability to communicate effectively with C-level stakeholders (e.g., IoT, edge processing, event-driven architectures, serverless processing, various data storage types, cognitive services, machine learning).
* Proven experience designing, building, and deploying modern, scalable data or AI applications, including distributed systems.
* Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS offerings.
* Proficiency with data integration techniques like messaging, queuing, change data capture, or data virtualization.
* Ability to prioritize customer concerns, balancing functional and non-functional requirements, especially under deadlines.
* Proactive in business development and understanding the commercial impact of decisions.
* Ability to motivate and empower teams, fostering an inclusive and innovative culture focused on well-being.
DESIRABLE
* Experience managing teams, setting objectives, providing feedback, and conducting performance reviews.
* Active participation in technology communities and sharing insights on technology trends.
