Job Title: Catering Manager (Maternity Cover) Location: Cheshire Salary: £30,000 £32,000 per annum Contract: Fixed-term (9 months, potential to extend to 12 months)
A unique opportunity has arisen for a hands-on Catering Manager to join a well-established, high-footfall leisure destination in Cheshire. This is a maternity cover position offering the chance to lead a dynamic seasonal team within a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
This role would suit someone who thrives in a less corporate, more independent setting and enjoys leading from the front.
The Role You will be responsible for overseeing two catering outlets, including a main hub and a grab-and-go kiosk. The operation is highly seasonal, with peak demand during school holidays and bank holidays.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing and leading a team of 320 staff (predominantly seasonal)
Creating rotas to ensure full coverage during peak periods
Supporting with food preparation, including sandwiches and light offerings
Ordering, stock control and basic cost management
Training, mentoring and developing young or inexperienced team members
Maintaining high operational standards and completing required paperwork
Driving performance across both units while remaining hands-on
What Were Looking For
A strong, hands-on manager who leads by example
Experience in catering, food preparation, stock control and rota management
Confident supervising teams and developing junior staff
Patient, empathetic but firm leadership style
Flexible and adaptable, particularly in a seasonal environment
Ability to work weekends and peak holiday periods
Own transport is essential due to location

Multi-site experience
Level 3 Food Hygiene (Level 2 minimum required training can be provided)
