School Catering Manager
Location: Huish Episcopi Academy, Langport, Somerset
Salary: £24,924 – £28,043 (Actual, Term Time Only)
Contract: Term Time + 1 Week (39 Weeks)
Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday (Typically 7:30am – 3:00pm)
Pension: LGPS with 24.4% employer contribution
Reporting to: School Finance Manager
Direct Reports: Catering Assistants
Are you passionate about fresh food, great service, and making a difference in a school community? We're looking for a dynamic Catering Manager to lead our in-house catering team and deliver high-quality, nutritious meals that support our Healthy Schools agenda.
What You'll Do
* Lead the day-to-day operations of the school's catering service
* Plan, prepare, and present meals to a high standard
* Manage menu planning, costing, and procurement within budget
* Promote the catering service through themed days and marketing
* Ensure compliance with food safety, allergen regulations, and health & safety
* Monitor financial performance and oversee the cashless till system
* Inspire and develop a motivated catering team
What We're Looking For
* NVQ in Hospitality and Catering (or equivalent)
* Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate
* Minimum 3 years' experience in catering/hospitality
* Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
* Proven ability to manage budgets and analyse food cost schedules
* A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practices
