Herald Plastic has built a solid reputation for supplying a diverse range of quality catering, janitorial, and bar products to wholesale customers at competitive prices. From our head office and warehouse in East London, we serve clients throughout the UK, including small wholesalers and international blue-chip companies, some of whom have been trading with us for over 25 years.
Due to recent expansion, we now require additional office personnel to support our growth. The introduction of new IT systems and Customer Relationship Management software will enhance our operational efficiency.
Role and Responsibilities
To ensure the smooth operation of the sales and credit account functions, handling customer queries, and coordinating with the warehouse team to deliver goods efficiently, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Tasks
* Handle customer inquiries regarding invoicing, orders, and products.
* Log and organize customer information.
* Process orders using Sage Software and spreadsheets.
* Send order confirmations and proforma invoices for approval and payment.
* Coordinate with warehouse for order picking and dispatch.
* Update and send invoices post-dispatch, and upload to invoice financing systems when necessary.
* Manage customer pricing and sample dispatch.
* Communicate with freight companies regarding deliveries and invoice queries.
* Order gas and pallets for the warehouse.
* Make calls to customers to obtain orders and introduce new products.
People
Manage personal diary, communicate regularly with sales management, work closely with the warehouse team, and develop customer relationships.
Reporting and Administration
Monitor customer credit status, maintain accurate records, and provide necessary reports and internal communications.
Miscellaneous
Perform any other duties as reasonably required by senior management.
Skills & Abilities
* Strong personality with excellent communication skills and a professional appearance.
* Ability to build rapport and work under pressure.
* Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and basic knowledge of Sage 50 (training provided).
* Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Education & Qualifications
Desirable: GCSEs in Math and English or equivalent; good written and verbal communication skills.
