The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) is looking for a Senior Front‑End Developer to help design, build and improve the digital services that support the NHS and wider health and care system. You will be a key contributor within an agile, multidisciplinary engineering team, developing accessible, high‑quality and performant front‑end applications used by millions of users. You will work closely with designers, researchers and back‑end developers, contributing to technical decisions and supporting the development of more junior colleagues. The interviews will take place in-person at our Manchester office • Designing and building robust, secure, front end web applications. • Writing maintainable, and well tested code using modern front end technologies such as React, NextJs, Vite, Nuqs • Work collaboratively as part of an Agile, multidisciplinary delivery team • Ensuring services meet accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2 AA) and follow NICE and GDS best practice. • Participating in code reviews, knowledge sharing and mentoring activities. • Supporting live services and helping identify and resolve technical issues. • Working with the wider Engineering Team to prototype, evaluate and integrate emerging technologies such as generative AI into secure, reusable and production ready front end components. The Engineering team at NICE designs, builds, and runs the digital services that underpin nationally relied upon health and care guidance used by millions of people. The team creates secure, reliable software that supports both internal guidance production and public-facing services such as the NICE website, BNF, and Clinical Knowledge Summaries. Engineers work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, applying DevOps and secure by design principles to continuously improve live services and deliver meaningful digital outcomes.
