The Role
* Preparing and cooking healthy meals/snacks for children and staff
* Following menus and portion control for a school/nursery environment
* Strictly managing allergens and dietary requirements (e.g., allergies, intolerances, cultural/religious needs)
* Keeping the kitchen clean, safe and compliant with food hygiene standards
* Basic stock control and assisting with deliveries
* Being comfortable interacting positively with children in a warm, professional way
Essential Requirements
* Previous experience in a school, nursery, or similar catering role
* Enhanced DBS (or willing to obtain one before starting)
* Strong understanding of food hygiene and safe kitchen practices
* Confidence working to high standards of allergen awareness and cross-contamination controls
* Reliable, organised, and able to work independently
Desirable
* Food Hygiene / Food Safety qualification
* Experience with allergy management and special dietary menus
