We are looking for a Bank Recovery Nurse/Practitioner to join our team. You will be working as part of a friendly, welcoming and expert multidisciplinary Theatre Team supported by our experienced Theatre Manager.
What you’ll be doing
To provide safe and effective clinical care, working closely with all disciplines, to ensure the promotion of high standards for patients during all aspects of the preoperative, peri‑operative and postoperative pathway.
Following appropriate training across a variety of specialties, patients will be appropriately monitored and cared for prior to and throughout their surgery, ensuring patients are fit and discharged from the unit appropriately. The post holder is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care under direct supervision and will be expected to demonstrate procedures and supervise unqualified staff.
As a member of the multidisciplinary team, you will practise and maintain a high standard of clinical care and participate in all activities of the department to enhance the patient experience and ensure safety for patients, visitors and staff in the operating theatre suite.
What we’ll look for in you
You will be a Part 1 registered NMC Nurse with experience of being a theatre practitioner in a theatre, or a HCPC‑registered Operating Department Practitioner.
In addition to being up to date with current research and developments in theatre practice, you should have a sound knowledge of Health and Safety/Risk management within the operating department.
You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care having regard for the differing needs of sedation and recovery.
