Rossmere Park Care Centre requires a Cook for our busy Residential Care Home. Hours are 7am - 5.30pm, (Alternate weekends required)
Main Duties:
To prepare appetizing and nutritious food for the residents
To prepare menus in conjunction with the residents likes, dislikes and/or medication requirements. This must rotate on a four week basis.
To ensure that the kitchen is hygienically clean at all times.
To meet different dietary requirements as necessary.
To order fresh food and other foodstuff supplies from Preferred Suppliers.
To regularly monitor stock control and to inform management of any discrepancies.
To ensure proper stock rotation of foodstuffs to minimise wastage, and to dispose promptly of any foodstuff found to be past "sell-by" dates for any reason.
To prepare nutritional food and beverages to a high standard, and promptly in accordance with agreed meal times
To prepare breakfast including offering a range of cooked breakfasts when chosen .
To offer and prepare at least three main options for lunch each day ensuring that fresh vegetables are used and to prepare desserts for all meal times as required by the menu
To prepare or part prepare the evening meal for that day or delegate this to the appropriate person
To ensure all meals are ready at the appropriate time
To delegate appropriate work to the kitchen assistant as required and monitor that this has been carried out to a satisfactory level.
To oversee any meals that the kitchen assistant has prepared.
To ensure that fresh cake is prepared for a residents' birthday or any other occasions as requested
Applicant will undergo a full, enhanced DBS check and 2 reference checks. Full training and Induction given. Immediate start once the recruitment process is complete.
