Driver Hire Borders are recruiting on behalf of a well-established construction client for an experienced Site Manager to join their operational team in Selkirk.
You’ll play a key role in the successful delivery of a new build social housing project, working closely with Pre-Construction, Commercial and Procurement teams to ensure the project runs safely, efficiently, and on programme.
You will:
1. Liaise with the Pre-Construction team to ensure projects are ready to start on site.
2. Manage and coordinate subcontractors to maintain quality and efficiency.
3. Communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
4. Work closely with the Commercial team on cost management and reporting.
5. Produce regular progress reports against programme targets.
6. Support the Contracts Manager with labour planning, daily recording, and weekly reporting.
7. Maintain clear communication with NHBC and Building Control.
8. Promote a strong safety culture in partnership with the SHEQ team.
9. Use IT systems including Work Wallet, MS Office, and Project Commander.
10. Ensure all site activities comply with company Health & Safety policy.

This role is ideal for a proven Site Manager with experience delivering social or affordable housing projects, including flatted developments.
Essential requirements:
18. Trade background and/or construction qualification (HNC, HND, Degree, or SVQ equivalent to SCQF Level 6–7)
19. Strong understanding of construction processes, regulations, and Health & Safety standards
20. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and documentation
21. Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction management software
22. Excellent leadership, organisation, and communication skills
23. Valid SMSTS and First Aid certificates
24. Full, clean UK driving licence
