About the role
Perfectly positioned in central Auckland, this newly built DoubleTree by Hilton boasts 231 rooms, 7 versatile on-site meeting spaces, an all-day dining restaurant, and our famous DoubleTree CARE service culture.
Reporting to the Cluster General Manager, North Island, as Hotel Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day hotel operations while maintaining all corporate and brand standards. You will also focus on maximizing performance and profitability, as well as guest and team member satisfaction. Communication with hotel owners and the Regional Corporate office will be required to develop and execute strategic management of the hotel in line with company goals.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Manage daily hotel operations in line with budgets to maximize profit.
* Implement all global goals, projects, policies, and events.
* Facilitate strategic planning to ensure standards, productivity, and service are continuously improving.
* Maintain good relations with hotel stakeholders, ensuring timely reporting, payment of dues, and access to records as required.
* Stay informed about legislation affecting the hotel’s legal status and operations.
* Take responsibility for workplace health and safety, ensuring the safety of all team members and guests.
* Implement all global Hilton policies and procedures, developing hotel procedures accordingly.
* Lead with Hilton’s culture, encouraging team members to deliver exceptional guest experiences and exceed customer expectations.
* Maintain knowledge of changing global hospitality trends and participate in managing food and beverage outlets with the hotel leadership team.
Skills and Experience
* Previous hotel management experience with thorough knowledge of the New Zealand market.
* Proven positive owner relations.
* A successful track record in hotel operations.
* Strong ability to achieve commercial outcomes in a competitive environment.
* Experience launching successful brands into the market.
* Ability to deliver quality products in line with brand standards.
Personal Attributes
* Current New Zealand work eligibility and ability to start with a short lead time.
* Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and engage team members.
Additional qualities include influencing and negotiating with senior stakeholders, outstanding coaching and mentoring capabilities, and the ability to establish oneself as a hotelier in a competitive market.
