Event Sales Executive – Exhibitions
Location: Birmingham, on site at NEC Group
Salary: £28,000 ‑ £30,000 per year plus bonus

Primary Purpose
As a Sales Executive, your key objective will be to upsell products and services to NEC exhibition customers, ensuring maximum commercial returns while supporting the NEC's overall vision.
Key Responsibilities
* Sales/Financial Delivery
o Develop a comprehensive understanding of NEC's products and services.
o Investigate customer needs and provide appropriate solutions.
o Manage sales portfolios, converting leads through effective outbound and inbound sales strategies.
o Maximise sales opportunities through cross‑selling and up‑selling to meet sales targets.
o Assist the Customer Support Coordinator with sales order processing and problem resolution.
* Business Development
o Identify and nurture revenue growth opportunities within customer portfolios.
o Collaborate with management on effective campaigns for proactive sales and lead generation.
* Account Management and Administration
o Maintain relationships with all customer groups and ensure accurate record‑keeping.
* Client Liaison and Satisfaction
o Build and strengthen relationships with customers, ensuring satisfaction in line with venue requirements.
* Compliance
o Adhere to all company policies and regulations, ensuring proper use of systems and quality standards.
* Corporate Initiatives
o Support the Sales and Customer Support management team in aligning with the broader NEC Venue and Group Sales strategy.
* Corporate Liaison
o Foster collaborative relationships with all NEC teams and suppliers to ensure a seamless customer experience.
Skills and Experience Required
* Technical Skills
o Previous contact centre/telephony experience preferred.
o Proficient in utilising various computer systems and processes effectively.
* Experience
o Ideally 2 years' experience in a sales and service environment.
* People Skills
o Strong interpersonal abilities; skilled in influencing and negotiating.
* Personality Traits
o Thrive in a fast‑paced, target‑driven environment.
o Effective communicator across all levels, building rapport easily.
* Attitudes
o Passionate about sales and customer service with a proactive “can do” approach.
