Job Description The Data & Analytics team is leading a transition from a fragmented legacy estate to a scalable, Cloud Native Unified Data Platform. This role leads the Data Architecture squad, responsible for defining the conceptual schema and technical vision that underpins the enterprise's data strategy. The Lead Data Architect oversees the design of the "Trusted Data Layer" and the convergence of ingestion, processing, and consumption into a single governed ecosystem, moving away from siloed legacy integration tools. This position ensures that data capabilities are aligned with business strategy while embedding governance, lineage, and quality into the architectural fabric of the new organisation using Lakehouse and Data Vault 2.0 methodologies. Key Roles & Responsibilities Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Data Architects, ensuring the delivery of the architecture roadmap and the data platform vision. Define and maintain the enterprise data architecture, adopting Lakehouse Architecture to combine cost-efficiency with flexible compute capabilities. Design and champion the "Trusted Business Intuitive Data Layer," utilising Data Vault 2.0 standards to ensure harmonised business definitions and full auditability. Lead the requirements analysis and solution integration for data engineering, ensuring alignment between data strategy, SQL transformation logic, and insights generation. Establish and enforce global standards for data modelling, metadata strategy, and lineage to ensure end-to-end data governance and regulatory compliance. Advise business and technical stakeholders on best practice data modelling approaches to enable secure, scalable, and exposure-ready data utilisation. Manage relationships with senior stakeholders and vendors to ensure architectural decisions support the broader business and technology strategy.
