Due to continued growth, they are now looking for a Lead Data Architect to join their team in Farnborough.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Data Architect to take ownership of a large‑scale Data Fabric architecture, helping shape the future of secure, scalable and resilient data platforms used within highly complex environments. The role combines strategic architecture ownership with hands‑on technical leadership across engineering and data teams.
As Lead Data Architect, you will be responsible for defining and evolving the overall data architecture roadmap, ensuring strong governance, interoperability and scalable deployment across secure customer environments. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, guiding technical direction whilst remaining close to delivery and implementation.
Key Responsibilities
* Own and evolve the end-to-end Data Fabric architecture
* Define architecture roadmaps, standards, governance and best practices
* Lead data integration and interoperability strategies across multiple environments
* Design scalable data processing, storage, metadata and governance solutions
* Establish architecture patterns and technical guardrails for engineering teams
* Lead architectural assurance and governance activities
* Support secure deployments across cloud, hybrid and on‑prem environments
* Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across projects
Key Skills Required
* Strong background in Data Architecture or Data Platform Engineering
* Experience owning architecture across complex enterprise programmes
* Knowledge of cloud, on‑prem and hybrid infrastructure environments
* Experience with data governance, metadata, lineage and lifecycle management
* Understanding of scalable integration patterns, APIs and event‑driven architectures
* Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
* Strong stakeholder communication and technical leadership skills
* Experience working within secure, regulated or mission‑critical environments is highly desirable
