About the role
We have an exciting permanent opportunity at NFU Mutual for a Developer to join our team and play a key role in supporting our IFACES application, which is integral to our operational success.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the IFACES application runs smoothly from an operational standpoint. You’ll work closely with the wider support team to provide technical assistance to the 2nd line IFACES support function, helping to identify, diagnose, and resolve issues efficiently.
You’ll also be responsible for producing ad-hoc data reports using SQL, delivering insights that help inform decision-making. You’ll also be utilising the IBM iSeries platform to triage program dumps and errors alongside other production support requirements. Collaboration will be at the heart of your work, as you’ll partner with colleagues across technical and business teams to deliver effective support.
With experience in application support or development, you’ll have a good understanding of how operational and technical issues can impact the business and will be confident using SQL to extract and analyse data. Your ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a supportive team will be key to your success, as will your methodical approach to troubleshooting and your focus on delivering consistent results.
As part of this role, you’ll also participate in an on-call and out-of-hours support rota, ensuring critical systems are available and supported.
About you
You’re a skilled problem-solver with strong attention to detail and have a proactive approach. You work well in a collaborative team environment, sharing knowledge and supporting others to deliver effective solutions. Clear and confident communication comes naturally to you, allowing you to engage effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders. You’re comfortable using SQL to analyse data and produce reports, confident in navigating the IBM iSeries platform and you take pride in delivering reliable, high-quality support.

4. Meaningful relevant and demonstrable experience of IT software support (essential)
5. Experience in a Financial services, insurance, investments and/or pensions environment (desirable)
6. ITIL awareness (desirable)
7. Experience of Agile software development methodologies (desirable)
