Offer description

EQUANS are recruiting for a Site Manager to be based in Didsbury. This is a full-time fixed term contract for 36 months, working 39 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, car allowance, bonus and benefits package.

General Overview

To manage a designated project on site and achieve the target contributions in accordance with the contract documents and programme; ensuring that the project is delivered safely on time, to a high standard of quality and with high levels of client/resident satisfaction. To understand, implement and adhere to the company SHEQ policy/strategy and ensure all employees reporting to you do the same and being responsible for ensuring that SHEQ requirements are upheld to the highest of standards at all times.

Key Accountabilities

1. To assist the Operations / Project Manager with pre-start details
2. To report to the Line Manager on the progress against the programme
3. To ensure full compliance with all Health & Safety aspects. Fully understand the companys SHEQ policy/strategy
4. Produce target and/ or recovery programmes (short term, etc.)
5. Update productivity trackers including CPR
6. Maintenance of company required Health & Safety procedures / initiatives, including: Use of PPE Site Inductions Management of Method Statements/Risk Assessments Undertake a thorough review of all subcontractors RAMS to ensure they have identified all foreseeable risks and implemented suitable controls Obtain all risk assessments from contractors To obtain sub-contractors Health & Safety policies prior to their work commencement Identify training needs Maintain statutory registers, including accident reporting Work Permits Scaffold/Lifting equipment inspections In house audits / inspections Site house keeping
7. Adherence to the Company quality standards including: Management of defects Fully understand the Construction Phase Plan Requirements, including its development Compliance with specification Compliance with materials / workmanship schedules Subcontractor code of conduct Considerate Constructors Scheme
8. Coordination / Leadership of the site team, inclusive of: Assistant Managers Resident Liaison Officers Administrators Sub-Contractors Other site operatives
9. Assist with the preparation of the Health and Safety file
10. Maintain and update Construction Phase Health & Safety plan as works proceed
11. Liaison with the client, consultants, contract administrator, head office etc.
12. To be responsible for the opening and closing of the site facilities including ensuring alarms are armed and working
13. Management of site facilities; welfare, toilets, offices, compound area etc.
14. Management of site housekeeping, discipline, behaviour etc.
15. To be aware at all times of possible commercial opportunities
16. To assist in the management of project specific preliminaries
17. Ensure all actions relating to proper close out of projects are executed before transfer to Customer Care Team
18. Ensure all documentation required to achieve handovers are accurately and promptly issued
19. Regeneration, EPB & Sustainability present accurate and timely handover packs to the Admin Team for uploading
20. Co-ordinate the Sub-Contractors and set-up and deliver weekly supply chain meetings
21. Preparation / assistance with the site progress reports including CPR and productivity trackers
22. Safe storage and co-ordination of materials
23. Be responsible for your safety and others around you
24. Attend all mandatory courses related to your role
25. Comply with all the roles and responsibilities as set out within the SHEQ management system
26. To be responsible for the accurate / timely completion of site based documentation
27. Attendance at project and company related meetings
28. To mentor and train Assistant Site Manager(s) and junior members of staff
29. To ensure, if applicable along with the Resident Liaison Officer, all relevant resident and public complaints are resolved efficiently
30. Any other reasonable management request

39. Previous Site management experience
40. Up to date relevant knowledge of building legislation
41. Up to date relevant knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
42. Understanding of local government construction projects
43. Experience of Partnership arrangements

44. Ability to fully operate Microsoft Project

47. Effectively manage time in order to meet deadlines

49. Ability to competently operate MS office (Word & Excel)
