The Role
We are looking for an experienced HR Manager to join Evident on a FTC, leading and maintaining all core HR operations, including employee relations, employee engagement, recruitment, policy, compliance, payroll, and systems management—ensuring everything runs smoothly and strategically.
This is a standalone role, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and acting as the point of contact for day-to-day HR matters while driving consistency, accuracy, and effectiveness in our core people operations, and ensuring a strong culture is promoted and maintained across Evident. If you are someone who takes initiative, solves problems fast, and gets things done with rigour and care, this could be the role for you.
What you’ll do
Key responsibilities:
* Employee relations: confidently handle ER cases, including disciplinaries, grievances, performance and absence cases, ensuring fair resolution, compliant processes, and excellent stakeholder communication. Support managers with practical, legally sound advice.
* Champion employee engagement by delivering initiatives that build connection, purpose, and positivity across our teams, in line with our People Strategy.
* Support recruitment, onboarding, and probation processes working with managers to deliver a smooth and welcoming experience for all new hires.
* Act as a trusted advisor on all HR matters—supporting managers, navigating complex cases, and ensuring a fair and inclusive workplace.
* Effectively manage all HR admin processes, systems and provide routine people metrics and reports to Executives, to guide decision-making.
* Maintain compliance across HR practices, staying ahead of employment legislation and upholding company policies. Ensure compliance with employment law, audit requirements, and GDPR.
* Support the management of monthly payroll processes and manage all benefits administration with precision and confidentiality.
About You
You will:
* Be qualified to Level 5 CIPD or above.
* Demonstrate a strong career history within a HR generalist role, including at management level.
* Have solid knowledge of employee relations processes and relevant employee legislation, including experience of managing ER cases independently.
* Demonstrate a proven ability to foster and support a positive, inclusive, diverse and highly collaborative employee culture.
* Be confident working in a standalone HR role.
* Be capable at building strong working relationships across all levels and functions of the business.
* Possess experience in developing and supporting line managers through change.
* Demonstrate strong analytical, problem solving, communication and decision-making skills.
* Thrive in a busy environment and be able to manage multiple, simultaneous priorities.
* Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality as a trusted and professional ambassador for HR.
Please note that Evident reserves the right to bring forward the closing date of any of its job vacancies if we receive a suitable number of quality applications from which to make a shortlist.
