We are working with an entrepreneurial law firm that specialises in providing tailored legal advice to start-ups, scale-ups, SMEs, and entrepreneurs. They offer a unique, flexible, and fully remote platform for mid to senior-level lawyers looking for high-quality consultancy work. They are currently looking for an experienced Employment Lawyer to join them on a flexible consultancy basis.
This opportunity works well for those who enjoy a portfolio or fractional career and lawyers who want to accept work that fits around other revenue streams.
The successful consultant will have the support of the wider firm, Partners, and Associates as and when required.
A client following is not required as the work will be provided by the firm. A competitive hourly rate is on offer.
Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate:
* Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales.
* Upwards of 7 years' PQE as an Employment Lawyer with experience covering a full range of contentious, non-contentious and corporate support matters.
* Training or some experience gained from a Magic Circle, Silver Circle, US or Top 50 firm.
* Experience in working with start-ups and growth companies.
* Strong experience in handling a full caseload of employment matters, to include but not limited to: analysing and providing practical advice on employee and independent contractor status; negotiating employment contracts, consultancy agreements and restrictive covenants; drafting and reviewing employment policies, procedures, and staff handbooks; providing guidance on day-to-day HR queries; handling disciplinary, performance and grievance issues; advising on potential employment tribunal claims and conducting claims in the Tribunal; handling discrimination, bullying and harassment, stress at work and whistleblowing allegations; advising on TUPE matters, amongst others.
* A genuine interest in providing legal advice to SMEs, Start-Ups and Entrepreneurs.
* A thirst for working in a refreshing and flexible manner.
