Site Agent / Site Manager – Civil Engineering & Water Infrastructure Projects

A leading UK civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Site Agent / Site Manager to join their delivery team on a series of high-profile infrastructure projects within regulated environments in the water and civils sectors.

The Opportunity
You will take full responsibility for managing the successful delivery of civil engineering projects on site, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with commercial, engineering and delivery teams, you will play a key role in maintaining client satisfaction and driving project performance.
This role offers the opportunity to lead teams on technically challenging infrastructure schemes, including works within the water sector and other regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
Overall responsibility for the successful delivery of civil engineering projects - ensuring works are delivered defect-free and in line with specification - leading site teams including Sub Agents, Engineers and Foremen where required - producing and implementing project plans, RAMS, ITPs and environmental management plans - managing the construction programme and producing 2-week lookaheads - coordinating procurement schedules and ensuring site resourcing is maintained - acting as the key client-facing representative on site and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships - ensuring commercial performance is maximised through cost control and value engineering - maintaining accurate site records, diaries and reporting documentation - chairing weekly site meetings and producing monthly internal and client reports
What We’re Looking For
Strong background in civil engineering within a contractor environment - experience delivering projects in regulated environments such as utilities or water - knowledge of NEC or JCT contracts - strong understanding of CDM regulations, design management, programme and risk management - experience with cost control, forecasting and commercial reporting - degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent - CSCS card - SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely - Temporary Works Coordinator certification - experience with confined space environments - strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
Desirable
CEng MICE or working towards chartership - experience using Primavera P6 - strong knowledge of both NEC and JCT contract forms
