Teaching Assistant (Learning Mentor) – Specialist SEMH Provision – Bolton
Key Responsibilities
* Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
* Build positive, trusting relationships to help students engage with learning.
* Assist in developing and delivering personalised support plans and interventions.
* Promote emotional regulation, resilience, and positive behaviour strategies.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams.
* Support students during lessons, transitions, and throughout the school day.
* Record progress and contribute to ongoing assessments and reviews.
Requirements
* Experience working with primary aged children who have SEMH needs or behavioural challenges.
* A calm, patient, and consistent approach to behaviour management.
* Strong communication and de‑escalation skills.
* Ability to remain resilient and solution‑focused in a dynamic environment.
* Good literacy and numeracy skills.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update service.
