Euro Foods Group Limited is a leading international manufacturer, wholesaler, and distributor of frozen and fresh foods, specializing in serving the foodservice and retail sectors. Operating across the UK, USA, and South Asia, we have food production plants (BRC accreditation) in South Wales and Bangladesh, and 8 depots across the UK. Our diverse portfolio includes food products sold in major supermarkets and specialist Asian stores, alongside our position as a major supplier to the Indian restaurant industry. We employ over 600 staff, supporting continued growth, innovation, and customer satisfaction.

As part of our exciting and ambitious plans for growth, we are expanding our operations and looking to strengthen our HR function. To support this exciting journey, we are seeking an experienced and accomplished HR Manager who will play a key role in driving our growth strategy while ensuring the continued success of our HR operations across all divisions.


Role Overview

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven HR Manager to lead the HR function at Euro Foods Group. Based in Cwmbran, this key role will oversee HR operations across our manufacturing, retail, and technology divisions while providing essential HR support to various business units within Euro Foods and its associated companies. This role is critical to ensure that HR processes align with the company’s ambitious growth objectives. The ideal candidate will bring gravitas, expertise in HR, Employment Law, and Health & Safety, and can command trust and confidence from all stakeholders across the business.

The HR Manager will work closely with the Operations Director, Depot Managers, Transport Manager, Payroll team, and other critical business functions to ensure HR activities meet operational needs and help propel the business forward. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a proven HR leader to shape and support the company’s growth trajectory.


Key Responsibilities


HR Strategy and Organizational Development

* Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company’s growth plans and long-term vision.
* Work closely with senior leadership to drive workforce planning, organizational development, and succession planning, ensuring HR processes support business goals and foster organizational growth.
* Support the company’s expansion efforts by providing strategic HR guidance across all sites and business functions.


Talent Acquisition and Management

* Oversee recruitment across manufacturing, retail, and logistics functions, ensuring the attraction of high-caliber talent to support business expansion.
* Lead and manage effective onboarding programs that ensure smooth transitions for new hires.
* Establish and lead performance management systems that support employee development, retention, and career progression in alignment with the company’s growth objectives.


Employee Relations and Engagement

* Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that aligns with Euro Foods’ values and growth ambitions.
* Manage complex employee relations issues, including grievances, investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution, ensuring fairness, transparency, and legal compliance.
* Lead initiatives to improve employee engagement, well-being, and satisfaction, driving a motivated and productive workforce across all business units.


Health and Safety Compliance

* Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures across manufacturing plants, depots, and retail outlets.
* Ensure compliance with UK legal and industry health and safety standards, conducting risk assessments, audits, and accident investigations as required.
* Provide safety training to employees and managers, embedding a culture of safety throughout the organization.


Compliance and Policy Management

* Ensure all HR policies and procedures comply with UK employment law, data protection regulations, and industry-specific standards.
* Stay current on legal requirements related to health and safety, employment tribunal processes, and other regulations.
* Oversee audits and inspections, ensuring compliance across all sites and business functions.


Performance and Disciplinary Management

* Lead and manage the entire disciplinary process, including investigations, hearings, and appeals, ensuring legal compliance and fairness.
* Provide guidance on employment tribunal cases and manage the preparation and representation process as necessary.Implement systems to monitor and improve employee performance, ensuring that performance aligns with the company’s goals and growth objectives.


Learning and Development

* Assess training needs across the organization and develop targeted learning programs to close skill gaps and foster continuous improvement.
* Lead leadership development initiatives, enhancing management capabilities across manufacturing, retail, and logistics functions in support of the company’s growth strategy.


HR Technology and Data Analytics

* Utilize HR systems to maintain accurate records, track key HR metrics, and analyze workforce data to inform decision-making.
* Provide regular reports to senior management on HR performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting strategic decision-making.


Skilled Worker Visa Management

* Oversee the process of sponsoring skilled worker visas, ensuring all applications comply with Home Office regulations.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of immigration laws, particularly in relation to the skilled worker visa process, ensuring the organization adheres to all immigration and work permit guidelines.
* Work with external legal advisors and immigration experts to manage visa applications, renewals, and compliance with visa conditions for eligible employees.


Collaboration with Payroll Team

* Work closely with the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including verifying employee data, pay rates, and deductions.
* Resolve payroll-related issues, ensuring compliance with all payroll regulations, including tax and national insurance.
* Ensure all HR data needed for payroll processing is accurately communicated and up-to-date.


Key Stakeholder Management

* Build and maintain strong relationships with the Operations Director, Depot Managers, Production Managers, Group Quality Assurance Manager, Head of Finance, Transport Manager, Payroll team, and other critical business units.
* Provide expert HR advice and support, ensuring that HR activities align with operational goals and contribute to the company’s growth strategy.
* Command trust and confidence from senior leaders, managers, and staff, ensuring HR initiatives drive business success and employee satisfaction.


HR Team Leadership and Support

* Lead and support the HR team, which includes one direct report, ensuring the team provides high-quality HR support to all business units within Euro Foods Group and its associated companies.
* Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure HR activities are aligned with business objectives and support the company’s ambitious growth plans.


Audit and Compliance Preparation

* Ensure the business is prepared for regular audits related to contracts, visa management, employee relations, and health and safety.
* Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure smooth audits and the implementation of necessary changes.


Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5 years of HR management experience, ideally within food manufacturing, or retail industries.
* In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, UK employment law, health and safety regulations, and employment tribunal processes.
* Proven ability to manage complex employee relations matters, disciplinary processes, and health and safety compliance.
* Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to influence and drive change at all levels.


Preferred Skills

* Expertise in health and safety regulations in food manufacturing and retail operations.
* Experience in conducting health and safety audits, risk assessments, and compliance checks.
* Knowledge of the skilled worker visa process and UK immigration regulations.
* Familiarity with managing cross-border operations and multi-site management.
* Experience working with food industry regulatory standards.


Job Location

This role required to work at least two days per week from EFG Cwmbran – EFG Food & Technology Park, Llantarnam Park Way, Cwmbran, NP44 3GA.

The remaining days may be worked from any of the following locations:

* EFG Hayes – Euro Foods Group Ltd, 4F Swallowfield Way, Hayes, Middlesex, UB3 1DQ
