Job Title: Freelance Site Manager Location: Bromley Duration: 3-4 months Day Rate: £240 - £260 per day depending on experience Start Date: 8th September 2025 About the Role We are seeking an experienced and driven Site Manager to assist in the delivery of a social housing scheme focused on the construction of sustainable homes, with a strong understanding of reactive maintenance operations. You will play a key role in ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, and to high quality standards, in line with both client expectations and environmental targets. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour on-site Oversee the construction of sustainable housing units from groundworks to handover Implement and monitor reactive maintenance solutions for existing properties Ensure project milestones are met within budget and time constraints Liaise with stakeholders including clients, residents, consultants, and the wider project team Maintain site documentation and reporting Champion environmental and sustainable best practices on site Requirements Proven experience as a Site Manager within social housing construction Strong knowledge of sustainable construction methods, including low-carbon technologies and energy efficiency standards Experience managing reactive maintenance within residential schemes SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certified Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and trades on a busy site IT-literate with experience in site reporting tools (e.g. Fieldview, Procore, etc.) Desirable Background in retrofit projects or Passivhaus-standard builds Knowledge of local authority housing standards and compliance How to Apply If you’re a proactive and hands-on Site Manager looking for your next freelance opportunity in a purpose-driven project, we want to hear from you.
