Job Title: Quality Manager – BESS Project Location: Manchester Contract Type: 6-Month Contract / Freelance Day Rate / Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience About the Role We are looking for an experienced Quality Manager to support the delivery of a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Manchester. The role will focus on driving quality standards across all stages of the project, ensuring compliance with client requirements, industry regulations and internal processes. This is a 6-month contract with the potential for extension, offering the chance to be involved in a significant renewable energy development. Key Responsibilities * Lead on the development and implementation of project-specific quality management procedures. * Oversee inspections, testing, and commissioning activities to ensure compliance with standards. * Carry out internal and supplier audits, producing clear reports and corrective action plans. * Provide practical guidance and support to project teams, contractors, and stakeholders. * Monitor performance and drive a culture of continuous improvement across the project. * Engage effectively with clients and supply chain partners to maintain strong quality assurance. What We’re Looking For * Relevant qualifications in Quality Management (e.g. ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or equivalent). * Previous experience in quality management roles within energy, utilities, BESS, or large infrastructure projects. * Strong knowledge of ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001). * Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. * Experience in managing suppliers and subcontractors on complex projects. * Eligibility to work in the UK and flexibility to attend site in Manchester as required.
