We are currently seeking a Cook for Mid-Ulster Hospital, Magherafelt. This position is 30 hours per week, working a shift pattern of either 7am to 3pm or 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. The pay rate is £12.31 per hour. This is a temporary position for three months, with the potential to become permanent. The successful candidate will support catering services across a 20-bed rehabilitation ward, a service supporting approximately 60 service users, and a busy hospital restaurant. Each day, you will work alongside a patient cook, restaurant cook, and a supportive team of catering assistants. Currently there is no confirmed start date, but this will be updated when made available. An induction will be provided. The main duties of this role include: Preparing and cooking meals in line with menu plans and dietary requirements, ensuring high standards and full compliance with hygiene regulations. Receiving, storing, rotating, and serving food safely, maintaining correct temperatures at all times. Monitoring stock levels, assisting with ordering and stock rotation, and minimising waste. Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen and service areas, including equipment and work surfaces. Recording and reporting key information such as temperature checks, portion control, equipment faults, and service data. What We Need From You Hands-on experience in food preparation and cooking.
