Queensbury is a large Secondary Special School with a satellite 6th Form Centre (approximately 379, 11 - 19 year old students in total), all with Educational Health Care Plans, which caters for students with Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties and a range of complex needs. Our positive, caring ethos provides a safe, stable, hardworking learning environment where everyone is valued. Our staff take a creative approach in teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of personalised curriculums in a way that maximises achievement and personal development; skills in Primary Specialists would be beneficial and are favourable with our students' cognitive levels.
Applications from EYFS or Primary Specialist, MPS Teachers and ECTs with the energy and drive to make a real difference are welcome. This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement of the role.
Education Impact Academy Trust (EIAT) is three Special Schools and a Specialist College (19-25). We also have two mainstream day nurseries. You will work with a team of staff to support children and young people to reach their full educational potential. We believe that 'Better Never Ends'. You may work with individuals who have physical disabilities, sensory impairments (i.e. hearing or visual), speech and language difficulties, learning difficulties such as dyslexia, conditions such as autism, social, emotional and mental health needs, or have a combination of these challenges. A key aspect of working within EIAT is that we identify individual needs and create a safe, stimulating and supportive learning environment. We take staff wellbeing and CPD very seriously and your professional development will provide you with a whole range of opportunities and equip you for a great career. We have 10 CPD days per year offering plenty of opportunity for your professional development. We want to engage all staff to support each other and feel included in our collaborative environment. Staff are trained to a high level and apply skills and knowledge together for the benefit of all.
Responsibilities and Expectations
As part of a well-established team, you will contribute to delivering personalised learning experiences that meet the needs of pupils with SEND, including those with Autism, Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties. You will work within a supportive environment with generous staffing levels (many classes with two Teaching Assistants) and opportunities to develop practice through CPD and collaboration with colleagues.
