As part of our growth, we are seeking an experienced and results-driven Quality leader to drive our quality assurance and control efforts across the entire value chain—from suppliers to customers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the quality strategy for our
manufacturing operations, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of
performance, consistency and compliance.
This leadership role requires strong expertise in quality turnarounds, quality management
systems (QMS), supplier quality assurance, customer quality management, continuous
improvement methodologies, and world-class manufacturing practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Strategy & Leadership
• Develop and implement a comprehensive quality strategy aligned with business
objectives and brand standards.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the Quality function, implementing measurable culture
change initiatives around accountability, precision, and continuous improvement.
• Drive quality-focused initiatives to enhance product reliability, customer satisfaction,
and operational excellence.
• Lead quality function restructuring and team development
• Report quality performance to executive leadership monthly
Customer Quality Assurance
• Serve as the primary quality interface for key customers, ensuring requirements and
expectations are met or exceeded.
• Oversee complaint resolution, root cause analysis, and implementation of
corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• Monitor customer satisfaction trends and lead proactive quality improvement
initiatives.
Supplier Quality Management
• Develop and manage the supplier quality program, including audits, incoming
inspections, and performance scorecards.
• Collaborate with Procurement and R&D to qualify new suppliers and materials,
ensuring conformance to specifications and standards.
• Achieve specified improvement targets in supplier processes to ensure consistency,
durability, and sustainability of leather materials and components.
Manufacturing Excellence
• Oversee in-process Control plans and final quality inspections, compliance with
standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality gate adherence.
• Implement and maintain robust quality systems (e.g., ISO 9001, SPC) throughout the
manufacturing facility with a Quality management system (QMS) oversight and
improvement.
• Implementation and facilitation of a quality improvement process to support
production with practical problem-solving techniques and more robust 8D sigma
techniques for large complex issues.
• Ensure plant-wide adherence to product standards, traceability, testing, and
documentation practices.
Regulatory & Compliance
• Establish compliance measurement and reporting framework against relevant
industry standards, regulations, and customer-specific requirements.
• Lead internal and external audits, certifications, and compliance reviews.
Required Skills & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field; Master’s
degree preferred - or equivalent experience
• Equivalent to 10+ years of progressive experience in quality leadership roles within a
manufacturing organisation with demonstrated turnaround results
• Strong background in supplier development, customer quality management, and lean
manufacturing with proven ability to design and build quality systems
• Proficient in root cause analysis tools (e.g., 8D, Fishbone, FMEA, DMAIC).
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in leading cross-functional teams and driving cultural change.
• Leather industry knowledge or experience with natural material variability.
• Familiarity with sustainability and ethical sourcing standards.
• Certifications such as CQE, CQA, or Six Sigma Black Belt.
