Position Description / Scope of the Role
The Maintenance Handyman provides general support to the Facilities & Maintenance department by carrying out a wide variety of repair, upkeep, and site service tasks. The role is responsible for the general upkeep of the building, ensuring the site is safe, functional, and maintained to a professional standard of appearance. This position plays a key part in supporting the smooth running of the factorys operations through proactive maintenance and basic repairs.
Main Responsibilities and Activities
Carry out general site repairs including basic carpentry, painting, and minor works tasks (within competency and training).
Support machine moves, installations, and site project work as directed by maintenance management.
Undertake preventative maintenance checks on facilities, equipment, and building fabric.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests, ensuring downtime and disruption are minimised.
Maintain site tidiness by repairing fixtures, fittings, and general factory infrastructure (doors, windows, shelving, flooring, etc.).
Assist with moving equipment, furniture, or materials when required.
Report faults and potential hazards to the Maintenance Manager in a timely manner.
Ensure work is carried out in compliance with Health & Safety policies, safe systems of work, and relevant regulations.
Liaise with external contractors and support their work on site where required.
Maintain tools and equipment in safe working order.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential:
Experience in a handyman, maintenance, or similar role.
Practical knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, painting, and general repair work.

D Shift: Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 4:00pm / Friday 7:30am to 12:30pm
