The Director of Recruitment will establish Ateca’s London-based Autonomous Recruitment team from scratch as part of the relaunch of the technology arm globally, growing to 5 members within 12 months. You will deliver 80+ IT hires annually (contract & permanent) across engineering, architecture, and project delivery roles, while embedding efficient, compliant, and candidate-centric processes.
This is a hands‑on leadership role combining team build‑out, full‑cycle delivery, and operational excellence in the competitive UK IT consulting market.
Key Responsibilities
* Recruit and lead a 5‑person TA team within 12 months (budget: £450k total comp).
* Define structure, KPIs, and development paths; run weekly syncs and monthly reviews.
* Instil a consultative, delivery‑focused culture aligned with Ateca’s client‑service ethos.
Recruitment Operations & Excellence
* Deliver 80+ hires/year:
o Permanent: Solutions Architects, Cloud Engineers, DevOps, PMs
o Contract: 70% of volume
Sourcing & Delivery – IT Consulting Focus
* Build pipelines via:
o Contractor databases: Access to 5k+ pre‑vetted freelancers
o University partnerships: Queen Mary, City University, Royal Holloway
o Manage PSL with 3–5 specialist IT contract agencies
Qualifications & Experience
Required Experience:
* 10+ years in IT recruitment, with ≥4 years leading a team in UK IT consulting or MSP.
* Built a recruitment function from 0→5+ in ≤12 months.
* Delivered placements with mix of perm/contract in IT infrastructure, cloud, or cyber.
* Systems: ATS (Vincere), LinkedIn Recruiter, Excel/Google Sheets reporting.
Preferred
* Experience recruiting SC‑cleared or financial services IT talent.
* Agency background transitioning in‑house.
* Commercial Acumen: Links hiring to billable utilisation and P&L.
* Operational Rigor: Builds scalable processes without bureaucracy.
* Candidate Obsession: Treats freelancers like clients.
* Pragmatic Innovator: Uses tech wisely, not for show.
