This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing dynamic organisation that’s passionate about investing in the growth and development of its people. We’re currently seeking a Developer who is equally passionate about design, UX, and conversion as they are about clean code and technical architecture. This role combines hands-on engineering, technical leadership, and product ownership, giving you the opportunity to shape and deliver features end-to-end—from understanding user pain points to creating modern, high-converting interfaces and deploying production-ready solutions. You’ll work closely with the founder and development team across two environments: a legacy codebase with its quirks and technical debt, and a brand-new Laravel 12 platform built from the ground up. Ideal candidates will have strong front-end instincts, a designer’s eye, and an entrepreneurial mindset focused on building products that users truly experience, not just use. The specific duties and responsibilities will include: The translation of user problems, business goals, and operational insights into simple high-impact product experiences. Own features from idea to production: discovery, design (UX/UI), scoping, build, rollout, and measurement. Bring ideas - not just execute them. Proactively suggest UX improvements, conversion-boosting changes, and new product opportunities. Rapidly prototype and experiment with new interactions, flows, and components. Champion a design-led, user-first mindset, ensuring everything shipped looks modern and works intuitively. Build high-quality, responsive, and visually polished user interfaces using: JavaScript (ES6) Tailwind CSS Ensure UI components load fast, feel smooth, and follow best-in-class usability patterns. Work closely with the founder to refine style, layout, and interaction details that drive adoption and engagement. Architect, build, and maintain robust web applications using PHP and Laravel (Eloquent, Queues, Events, Jobs, Service Container, etc.). Integrate internal and third-party APIs to extend product capabilities. Contribute meaningfully to both the new Laravel 12 build and stabilisation of the legacy platform. Lead architectural decision-making for both legacy and greenfield systems. Own key codebase areas end-to-end - design, implementation, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement. Identify and address tech debt that impacts speed, stability, or user experience Configure and manage Linux web servers (Nginx/Apache), ensuring performance, security, and reliability Maintain and iterate on CI/CD pipelines for fast, safe deployments Act as a hands-on technical lead and future mentor as the team grows Work openly and collaboratively with the founder and future product/ops stakeholders Communicate clearly around priorities, estimates, risks, and trade-offs What you’ll bring to the team: Strong product intuition and an eye for design quality Entrepreneurial energy - you bring ideas, not just execute them Ownership mentality: if something breaks, you fix it; if something can be improved, you improve it Excellent communicator with the ability to simplify complex concepts Committed to writing clean, well-tested, maintainable code Self-driven with a positive outlook Motivated and proactive with the ability to work both well alone and as part of a team Strong organisation and planning skills with ability to work to deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills What we offer: Salary aligned with your skills and expertise 25 days holiday allowance plus statutory public holidays A clear progression route to further your career Flexible benefit and well-being schemes Birthday leave 2 giving back days per year.
