Freelance Site Manager | School Fit-Out | Crawley
We are seeking a high-caliber Site Manager for a prestigious, long-term freelance contract in Crawley, West Sussex. This project involves a comprehensive internal fit‑out of a local school and requires a leader with a sharp eye for detail and a proven track record in education or high‑spec commercial sectors.
The Role
* Project Type: Internal Fit-Out (Education Sector)
* Duration: Long-term freelance
* Start Date: April 2026
* Location: Crawley (West Sussex)
* Rate: £270 - £280 per day (DOE)
Key Responsibilities
* Overseeing the daily operations of a fast‑paced school fit‑out.
* Managing subcontractors, ensuring work is delivered to a high standard and on programme.
* Maintaining rigorous Health & Safety standards within a live or sensitive environment.
* Acting as the primary point of contact for the client and school stakeholders.
* Conducting site inductions, toolbox talks, and quality inspections.
Requirements
* Experience: Significant experience in internal fit‑outs (education experience is highly desirable).
* DBS: Must hold a valid Enhanced DBS (or be willing to undergo one immediately).
* Qualifications: SMSTS, First Aid at Work, and a Black CSCS Card.
* Attributes: Strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
Note: Due to the nature of the project being within an educational facility, an Enhanced DBS check is a non‑negotiable requirement for this position.
