Salary: Band D, Point 20 – 25 (Thurrock)
Working Hours: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) with a 1‑hour unpaid lunch break. Split shifts may be considered.
Hours per Week: 30 | Weeks per Year: 52 | Annual Leave: 20 days
Role Overview
We are looking for a practical and well‑motivated person to work at Warren Primary School. The role involves a wide range of responsibilities related to ground and facilities maintenance, including key holding responsibilities for opening and locking up the school.
Under the direction of the Headteacher and the Osborne Co‑operative Academy Trust H&S department, you will carry out Health & Safety checks in accordance with Trust policies to ensure compliance, and line‑manage site staff.
Key Responsibilities
* A hands‑on individual who can maintain, develop and implement systems and procedures
* Practical with good DIY skills
* Able to contribute to projects and maintenance schedules
* Self‑motivated and willing to work on own initiative
* Adaptable regarding hours of work to meet the needs of the school
* Capable of communicating effectively with contractors and central functions
Qualifications & Experience
* Hands‑on experience in ground and facilities maintenance
* Experience in key‑holding and building security
* Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures and policy compliance
* Ability to line‑manage a small team of site staff
* Strong DIY and problem‑solving skills
* Excellent communication skills
