£16,100 basic (term-time) + uncapped commission. Upper figure is a realistic OTE; commission is paid on lifetime gross profit from customers you win.

The role
This is a proper "hunter" role for someone who loves opening doors, creating opportunities and winning business.
You'll be outbound calling and booking local meetings with businesses like the customers we already supply. Your job is to uncover what else they buy, where their current suppliers are letting them down, and create qualified opportunities for our team to quote and close quickly (quotations are handled by someone else initially, so you can stay focused on winning).
We sell across PPE & workwear, office supplies, furniture, packaging supplies and shredders, including high-security hard drive shredding. There's plenty of room to build something big here.
Commission is uncapped and is paid on gross profit for the lifetime of the customers you win, so the right person can build a genuinely valuable customer book over time.
What you'll be doing
* Outbound calling to re-engage previous customers and target similar local businesses
* Booking and attending face-to-face meetings with local prospects and customers
* Running consultative conversations to uncover pain points and buying opportunities across our wider range
* Qualifying opportunities and handing over clean, well-briefed quote requests to our internal team
* Following up to keep momentum and drive decisions through to order
* Building and maintaining a pipeline in the CRM with clear next steps
* Testing what works: different sectors, different angles, different offers (you'll help shape the approach)
* Working towards clear targets such as daily activity levels, meetings booked/held, and qualified opportunities created for closing
What "good" looks like
* Consistent outbound activity and follow-up
* Regular local meetings in the diary
* A pipeline full of genuine, qualified opportunities
* A steady stream of new customers and expanding spend from existing accounts
What we're looking for
* Confident, persuasive communicator who is comfortable on the phone and face-to-face
* A self-starter who doesn't need a script to pick up the phone and get going
* Resilient and upbeat (you won't win every call, and you'll be fine with that)
* Curious and consultative: you ask smart questions and actually listen
* Organised enough to run a pipeline and follow up properly
* Sales experience helps, but attitude and hunger matter most
